Canada 2013-14

While this Lozelmo blog was started in May 2018, my first foray into blogging was in the second half of 2013, when I spent several months living in Canada.

For a little bit of background, I flew out to Vancouver in the July of that year on a 12-month working holiday visa, by myself and knowing nobody out there.

Over the summer and autumn I went on a number of trips, some of them organised group tours: a few days on Vancouver Island, a couple of weeks going around the Rockies, three weeks WWOOFing on a little family farm on the Island, a few days up in a popular little coastal town again on the Island before returning to the farm for Thanksgiving. But anxiety meant that I did barely any exploring otherwise, spending most of my time in the room I was renting in a shared house and wasting a lot of time in a stunning city, and I wasn't successful in getting a job. So when I came back to the UK for a couple of weeks in January 2014 for a family wedding, I decided to come home early. I flew back to Vancouver to pack up my things, went on one last trip up to Whitehorse in the frozen Yukon, and returned home for good in early February.

So, if you'd like to, you can read about my adventures, and non-adventures, here: https://lem-canada.blogspot.com :)
